We know that finding the right attorney to represent you is a choice not to be taken lightly. An initial consultation will be used to assess your needs and to determine the scope of your goals. Together we will confirm if we are a good fit for assisting with your situation, and, if so, we then will proceed with a representation agreement. We also may find that a consultation appointment is all that is required to address your concerns.
Depending on the case, we offer hourly rates or a flat price rate. We keep detailed logs of time spent on each case, counting in traditional legal six minute (1/10 of an hour) increments. Detailed billing invoices will be disclosed to clients periodically or upon request. We only work for as long as a case requires and for the agreed scope, so clients will not be overbilled for unproductive time. Invoices will include costs for copy, filing, travel, third-party research tools, and other out-of-pocket expenses as applicable. All billings are subject to client review for reasonableness. Retainers must be paid upfront for hourly cases or initial payments as agreed for flat price cases. Fiduciary cases usually are billed hourly, and reasonable adjustments will be taken into account over time as personal and estate management complexity involved will fluctuate.
Sarah also does periodic community and organizational presentations on various legal topics. So feel free to ask if I am available to assist with your special event or conference. ⬦
